Amarillo Bulls News Release
AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls, 2011 South Division Champions, have been busy in the community over the past couple of weeks visiting area schools.
Bulls' players took part in Red Ribbon Week activities at Belmar Elementary and Lakeview Elementary Schools. One of the big hits last season was the Bulls Fitness program, and this year has been no exception. This past week players were teaching young children at Cityview Elementary.
"It's been very rewarding to teach the kids how to hold a stick, passing, eating properly before games, and having a healthy diet when they are growing up," Bulls' forward Greg Gibson said. "We're working with 7 to 11 year-olds, and they love all aspects of our visits. It's been very enjoyable."
The Bulls had more than 800 hours of community service in their Inaugural Season, and are already well on their way in exceeding that number. Other organizations the Bulls have been helping with include the United Way and the Juvenile Diabetes just to name a few.
If your school is interested in having the Bulls Fitness Program visit their schools, please call the Bulls office at 806-242-1122 .
It's the Amarillo Bulls and the Topeka RoadRunners at Kansas Expo Center-Landon Arena in back to back games tonight (Friday) and tomorrow. Face off for both games is at 7 pm. The Bulls head into the game winners of their last eight straight and make their first trip back to Topeka since last year's Robertson Cup. Whenever Amarillo and Topeka get together on the ice, the games have been close and exciting and these two promise to be the same.
Broadcast coverage begins with the Bulls Warm Up Show Presented By Wayland Baptist University at 6:45 pm with the play by play from Denis J. Puska to follow. The games are also available on Pay Per View courtesy of Fast Hockey and a high speed internet connection is required in order to view the games.
