Amarillo Bulls News Release

AMARILLO, TX - Comeback complete...

For the first time since 2014 the Amarillo Bulls are off to the South Division Finals after a 3-1 triumph over the Corpus Christi IceRays in the fifth and deciding game of the Semi-Final Series. The Bulls trailed the series at one point 2-0 and came back with three straight victories outscoring Corpus Christi 12-6 in the process.

The Bulls will now face the Shreveport Mudbugs for the right to attend the Robertson Cup National Championship in Blaine Minnesota in May. The Best Of Five series begins Thursday and Friday at 7 pm with the first two games at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. The scene will shift to Shreveport and George's Pond Hirsch Coliseum next week for Games 3 and 4 if necessary.

That was the Bulls first home playoff win since 2014 when they won the first two games of the series against the Wichita Falls Wildcats. Amarillo led 2-0 in the first 10 minutes of the game with goals coming off the sticks of Brett Abdelnour and David Ojamae. Nick Anderson had two helpers, while Gabriel Seger and Jake Willets had the others.

The IceRays pulled to within one, three minutes later when Nikita Krivokrasov scored from a sharp angel.

After that, Bulls locked things defensively and the IceRays were not able to generate many offensive scoring opportunities. Goaltender Jason Grande was solid in net stopping 26 of 27 shots he faced.

The IceRays pulled their goaltender in the final 90 seconds looking to get the equalizer but were unsuccessful in front of the home side's net. Forward Alex Peterson secured the win and the series with a hattrick in the final minute of regulation.

The Amarillo Bulls will release ticket information, specials and promotions in the coming days through the local media and on social media. To purchase tickets, call 242-1122 or visit 301 South Polk in the Amarillo Building as well as online at www.panhandletickets.com and www.amarillobulls.com/tickets.
