Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis.- The Green Bay Bullfrogs won their fourth consecutive game on Aug. 6 against the La Crosse Loggers 7-4 at Joannes Stadium.
Luke Lind threw seven strong innings for the Bullfrogs and improved his record to 4-1 on the season. He allowed just two runs on seven hits and no walks with seven strikeouts.
Logan Taylor recorded three hits with two RBIs, two stolen bases and a run scored.
Taylor led off the game with a single to leftfield and advanced to second on his 32nd stolen base of the season. Robb Paller drove a base hit up the middle to give the Bullfrogs a 1-0 lead.
After Lind retired the first six batters, Alex Merritt led off the top of the third with a solo shot over the left-field fence to tie the game at 1 for the Loggers.
Green Bay grabbed the lead right back in the third when Danny Rosenbaum lined a ball off of pitcher Nolan Gromacki, and Paller scored as the ball bounced into rightfield.
With runners at first and second and one out in the fifth, Chris Baker singled to rightfield to score Merritt and tie the game again.
Caleb Ratzman walked to begin the fifth and stole second and third. Paller hit a fly ball to left that was dropped by Jordan Zimmerman as Ratzman scored.
The Bullfrogs added three more to their lead with a two-out rally in the bottom of the sixth. After a pair of strikeouts, Green Bay tallied four straight singles. Ratzman had an RBI base hit, and Taylor singled up the middle to score two, which gave the Bullfrogs a 6-2 advantage.
Paul Jacobson's single was mishandled in rightfield by Ryan Kirby, which allowed Rosenbaum to score in the seventh.
Michael Echavia came through with a pinch-hit single to cut the lead to four for the Loggers as Will Savage scored. Luis Trevino singled passed Matthew De La Rosa at shortstop to score another run to make it a 7-4 game in the eighth.
De La Rosa moved from shortstop to the mound and pitched a scoreless ninth inning with a pair of strikeouts for his third save of the season.
