The flood gates opened in the second inning as the Bullfrogs plated eight runs and batted around the order. Marcus Shoemaker (Lenoir Rhyne) began the inning off with a triple to right field. Quincy Nieporte (Florida State) hit a towering fly ball to left field that was inches from going out of the ballpark, the result was a sac fly that plated Shoemaker. The next eight Bullfrogs batters reached base off of five hits and three walks. After the inning ended, the Bullfrogs had a 9-0 lead.

Stuart Springer got the start for the Bullfrogs. He was cruising till the 3rd inning but gave up two runs off a two RBI double by Dan Jipping (Central Michigan) in the bottom half. The start would be a short one as he was replaced by Logan Elliot (Mississippi State) in the fourth inning. The first delay occurred in the top of the fifth inning.

Coming back from delay, the Bombers came out strong in the bottom of the fifth as they scored three runs. Dan Patzlaff (Oregon) began the inning with a walk. He was followed by Jipping who hit a single down the left field line. Dean Miller (Riverside City College) had an RBI single to score the first run of the inning. The Bullfrogs had a chance to get out of the inning but Matt Hoeg (Iowa Western CC) made an error on a ground ball that would result in two more runs scoring for the Bombers.

In the top of the bottom of the seventh, the game was called once again due to weather. The second rain delay lasted about an hour before the game was called due to an unplayable field surface.
