Mequon, Wis. - The Kingfish (9-15) took a 7-1 loss on the road against the Lakeshore Chinooks tonight in Mequon.

The Kingfish fell behind early, and the Chinooks coasted to victory. Lakeshore scored first off of a Royce Ando RBI double, and proceeded to keep tacking on from there. By the end of the 6th inning, the Chinooks had built a 5-0 lead, highlighted by a Matt Johnson solo home run.

The Kingfish finally broke into the score column with a Rob Henry RBI single in the 7th, but that was all the Kingfish offense could muster. In total, the Kingfish left 8 runners on base. The Kingfish at one point had the bases loaded and nobody down in the 5th, but were unable to plate any runs.

Brendon Allen was sent to the mound to make his 5th start of the summer. He worked 5 innings, and surrendered 4 runs, 3 being earned. Allen took the loss and falls to 1-1 on the season. Chase Thurston was the lone Kingfish reliever tonight, pitching 3 innings and surrendering 3 runs, while fanning 6.

Nick Kanavas paced the Kingfish offense with a 3 for 4 evening. Rob Henry picked up the lone Kingfish RBI, and Cal Jadacki drew 3 walks. The Kingfish will face the Chinooks again tomorrow night at Kapco Park, before hosting Battle Creek for a weekend series beginning Saturday at 6:05 CT.
