
Bullfrogs Look to Make It Two in a Row

GREEN BAY, Wis. - - -- The Green Bay Bullfrogs are back at home tonight to host the Kenosha Kingfish. This is the first of a two-game series against the Kingfish and the beginning of a three-game homestand. These two teams met once before for a two-game series in Kenosha, with the Kingfish coming out on top in both games, 10-5 and 5-3.
The Frogs finally stopped their five-game slide after winning a tight contest last night over the Lakeshore Chinooks, 4-3. The victory moved their record to 10-17 on the year and tied for ninth in the South Division.
Troy Johnston (Gonzaga) has paced the offense for the Frogs as of late. In his last three games, Johnston has gone 5-13 (.385) with two doubles and five RBIs. He has raised his average to .284 on the season, which is sixth best on the team.
The Kingfish come into this series at 18-10 and find themselves sitting second in the South Division. The Fish are coming off of a spilt with Fond du Lac and are 7-3 in their last ten games.
Kenosha is lead offensively by newcomer, Cameron Comer (Virginia). In his first two weeks with the team, Comer has hit .412, knocked in four RBIs and accumulated an OBP of .488.
The pitching matchup today will feature a pair of freshman right-handers in Noah Miller (Arkansas) for the Bullfrogs and Mitch Boyer (Creighton) for the Kingfish.
Miller will be making his fourth start this season and comes in with a 2-1 record, a 4.57 ERA and nine strikeouts. His last outing against Fond du Lac he threw seven strong innings, scattering nine hits and allowing one run in the 7-4 victory.
This will be the third start of the season for Boyer. He is 0-0 on the year throwing only 7.2 innings with an ERA of 1.17 and four strikeouts. His last outing came against Lakeshore where he would pick up the no-decision, going four innings and giving up one run.
