Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis - Bullfrogs and Rivets square off in the eighth and final regular season meeting between the two teams. After dropping last night's ballgame, the Bullfrogs now have a 4-3 series lead. In an 11-6 loss, the Bullfrogs failed to match the high-powered offense of the Rivets. In a competitive south division, the Bullfrogs second half record stands at 17-16 and the overall record at 32-37.
Even with a loss yesterday, the Bullfrogs still remain one game behind the fourth and final playoff spot. The Lakeshore Chinooks split a doubleheader yesterday against the Battle Creek Bombers and the Growlers fell to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters to keep the playoff race tight with three games remaining in the season. The Chinooks finish a four game series against the Bombers and Growlers face the Rafters. Bullfrogs still have a great chance of making the playoffs as they are chasing one game from the Chinooks with a two game series against the Chinooks looming.
It was an offensive outburst from the Rivets that put them on top on last night's ballgame. Recording 17 hits and scoring 11 runs, the Bullfrogs offense was unable to keep up. Max Frederick (Lackawanna CC) held the Bullfrogs in check for eight innings as the right-hander gave up five runs on five hits, three of those runs coming in his final inning of the night. Josh Hollander (Kent State) led the Bullfrogs with two hits, one being a triple, and scoring two runs. Colton Onstott (Dodge City CC) provided late inning power as he hit a three run home run in the eighth inning.
Tonight, the Bullfrogs will go with Harrisen Egly (Columbia) on the mound. Last time out, Egly went six innings of three run baseball as he earned a no decision against the Chinooks. In his first start against the Rivets, Egly earned the win as he went five and two-third innings of shutout baseball. Egly is looking for his fifth win of the season as he brings his 4-2 record and 3.91 ERA into tonight's ballgame.
Drake Robison (Iowa) will be making his 11th start of the season for the Rivets. Robison struggled in his last start as he went three innings and gave up five runs in a loss to the Willmar Stingers. The Bullfrogs has had success against Robison this season as they plated eight runs against the right-hander back on July 24th. Robison is 7-4 with a 4.76 ERA and has allowed 70 hits in 62.1 innings this season.
Aurora BayCare Medical Center EMS Appreciation Night featuring Firefighter Jeremiah bobblehead giveaway at the ballpark tonight. First few fans through the gate will receive a Firefighter Jeremiah bobblehead.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm from Joannes Stadium
