Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis. - Following the best attended season in Bullfrogs history and a playoff birth, the Bullfrogs have announced the 2015 post-season Awards. Garrett Harrison has been announced the 2015 Pitcher of the Year. Ty Blankmeyer has been recognized as the 2015 Defensive Player of the Year. Logan Taylor walks away as the 2015 Most Valuable Player.
Garrett Harrison was the Bullfrogs ace on the mound this year. The 6'5" left handed pitcher from St. Cloud State started 8 games and posted a 4-2 record this summer, including one complete game. Harrison struck out 43 batters in those eight games while giving up just 41 hits all summer. Harrison's ERA was just 1.52 on the summer. Harrison was selected to the Northwoods League All-Star game where his inning of work featured 2 strike outs against the top competition in the league. Following his last start on July 28th, Harrison was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Ty Blankmeyer brought a large presence to the middle of the Bullfrogs infield this summer. At just 5'7" tall and 160 pounds, the second baseman from St. John's University anchored the center of the infield defensively. Blankmeyer robbed several base hits and made the difficult plays look routine. The presence that he brought to the infield and the impact he had on games earned him the 2015 Defensive Player of the Year award.
Logan Taylor was a key component to the success of the Bullfrogs this summer helping earn him the Most Valuable Player Award. The center fielder from Louisville was strong offensively and defensively. When his bat went off, the rest of the bats followed the lead. In the outfield, Taylor brought a cannon for an arm and threw several base runners out at home plate. Taylor also covered a lot of ground in center field eating up anything that came his way. In 47 games played with the Bullfrogs this summer, Taylor had a .310 batting average, with 15 RBI, 35 stolen bases, and 47 runs scored. In all those games, Taylor made just one error defensively.
The Bullfrogs are now accepting ticket deposits for the 2016 season. Season tickets, 7-game packages, 9-game packages, half season packages and group outing packages are available for 2016.
