Bulldogs Sign QMJHL Star Thomas Beauregard To An AHL Contract

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs have announced today the signing of right-winger Thomas Beauregard to a one-year American Hockey League contract, with a club option for a second year. As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Beauregard, 21, finished the 2006-07 campaign second overall in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League scoring with 124 points (71-53-124) and 44 penalty minutes in 69 games with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. His 71 goals and 124 points were both single-season franchise records for Acadie-Bathurst. On October 27th, 2006, Beauregard became the all-time leading goal scorer for the Titan, notching his 102nd and 103rd career markers to surpass the previous record of 101 goals.

The native of Montreal, Quebec was named QMJHL player of the week twice last season (November 6th-12th, December 4th-10th) and also earned player of the month honours for December. For his overall efforts, Beauregard was named to the QMJHL's First All-Star Team.

In five seasons with Acadie-Bathurst from 2002-2007, the 5-foot-11, 188-pound forward collected 294 points (154-140-294) and 102 penalty minutes in 256 career games. During the 2004-05 season, Beauregard missed all but five games due to injury, but rebounded with back-to-back 69-game seasons in 2005-06 and 2006-07.
