Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today they have partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton and Burlington for the upcoming Bulldogs' 10th Anniversary Season. Big Brothers Big Sisters will be a beneficiary for the 2005 Hamilton Bulldogs Charity Golf Classic, and receive a portion of proceeds from the Bulldogs' current season ticket drive.

The 2005 Hamilton Bulldogs Charity Golf Classic will take place on Tuesday, August 16th, 2005 at Century Pines Golf Club in Flamborough, Ontario. Golfers are invited to join honourary co-chairs - Hall of Fame defenceman Harry Howell and 1989 Stanley Cup Champion Ric Nattress at this fourth annual event. Montreal Canadiens' Assistant General Manager and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Andre Savard, Bulldogs coaches Doug Jarvis and Ron Wilson, and many current Bulldogs players are expected to be in attendance.

With the generous support from last year's tournament, over $20,000 was raised for Travis' Battle and the Hamilton Bulldogs Youth Fund. The proceeds from this year's golf classic will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton and Burlington, and the Hamilton Bulldogs Youth Fund.

Also, as part of the Bulldogs / Big Brothers Big Sisters partnership, a portion of proceeds from every new Hamilton Bulldogs season ticket sold between June 7th and June 17th will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton and Burlington.

"In our continuation of announcing 10th Anniversary initiatives, we are pleased once again to include a partner such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton and Burlington as a mutual beneficiary of fan and corporate support of the Bulldogs,' said Brian Lewis, the Bulldogs' Executive Director of Operations. 'Our Annual Charity Golf Classic is an exciting event that has raised a great amount of money for local charities in the past, and the continued promotion of our season ticket drive will add to the money we are able to raise for such a valued charitable organization in our community."

Sandy Jukes, the Director of Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton and Burlington added, "Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton and Burlington are delighted to partner with the Hamilton Bulldogs, not just for this golf tournament, but also with several other events throughout the year. The Hamilton Bulldogs have been incredible supporters of our agency since their inception and have provided funds, tickets and prizes to benefit children in our mentoring programs. These programs are proven effective at helping boys and girls stay in school, stay off drugs and out of trouble. The Hamilton Bulldogs are very much about community and, in our case, they make a real difference in the lives of the children that we serve".
