Brantford Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs winless streak is now four in a row after a 5-4 loss in Ottawa Friday night.

The 67's came out strong in the first period and had a 2-0 lead by the 11:24 mark including one on the power play. The Bulldogs got one back as Justin Lemcke's (3) shot from the point found the back of the net at 13:41 to cut the lead to 2-1 at the end of 1. Adam Laishram picked up the only assist.

That goal seemed to spark the Bulldogs as they scored two goals 76 seconds apart early in the second period to take a 3-2 lead. Matt Luff (8) scored on a penalty shot and Adam Laishram scored his first of the season. Laishram was making his season debut after being out all season with an illness.

However, the lead was short lived as Ottawa scored two quick ones of their own to re-take the lead at 4-3 after two periods.

The 67's got a big goal at the 6:01 mark of the third period to take a 5-3 advantage and seemed content to sit on the two goal lead. The Bulldogs poured it on and it paid off as Marian Studenic (5) scored to cut the lead to 5-4. Mackenzie Entwistle picked up the only assist. Hamilton had some chances with the goalie on the bench in the final seconds but couldn't get the equalizer.

The win by the 67's was their first on home ice this season in six attempts as their record improved to 5-7-2-0

Hamilton is now 0-3-1-0 in their last four games while their season record dropped to 7-5-1-0.

The Bulldogs are back in action Sunday afternoon at 2 pm as they take on the Frontenacs at the Rogers K Rock Centre in Kingston.
