Bulldogs Launch Official Facebook Fan Page

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today that the club has launched its official Facebook fan page and Twitter page. Facebook users can become a fan of the Bulldogs by following this link: http://www.facebook.com/search/?q=hamilton+bulldogs&init=quick#/pages/Hamilton-Bulldogs/162878425588. Fans can also follow the 'Dogs home and away all season long with "tweets" from the team's Director of Broadcasting and Communications / Play-by-Play Announcer Derek Wills beginning next week when the club opens training camp in Scotland. Fans can sign up to follow Derek Wills on Twitter at http://twitter.com/dogsplaybyplay.

Facebook is a free-access social networking website that allows users to join networks to connect and interact with other users. With a Facebook account users can add friends, send messages to fellow users and update their personal profiles. The Bulldogs page will provide fans with links to news and information about the team and allow fans to add 'Dogs games and events to their Facebook calendars. There will also be a discussion board that will allow fans to discuss topics concerning the Bulldogs team and players. All fans that sign up to become a fan of the Bulldogs on Facebook by October 3rd, 2009 will be entered into a draw to win an autographed 2008-2009 Bulldogs game-worn jersey.

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send and read messages known as tweets. Derek Wills will be tweeting all season long with updates on the team while at home and on the road with the Bulldogs. All fans that sign up to follow Derek Wills on Twitter by October 3rd, 2009 will be entered into a draw to win a 2008-2009 team autographed stick and a certificate to join Derek Wills and Colour Commentator Al Craig in the broadcast booth at a Hamilton Bulldogs 2009-2010 home game.

The 'Dogs open training camp next week in Edinburgh, Scotland with a pre-season game against the Toronto Marlies on Thursday, September 24th at 2:00 p.m. EST. The Bulldogs will then battle the Belfast Giants in the semi-finals of the Gardiner Cup tournament at 12:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, September 26th in Edinburgh.

Fans can listen to every 'Dogs pre-season, regular season and post-season game in 2009-2010 on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, Talk 820. Fans can also listen to or watch every game online on www.hamiltonbulldogs.com. All regular season radio and online broadcasts will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the game's scheduled start time. Ellery Award-winning broadcaster Derek Wills will call the play-by-play of all 80 regular season games, while Al Craig will provide the colour commentary for all home games and select road games.
