Bulldogs Drop 5-1 Decision to Rival IceDogs

HAMILTON, ONTARIO. After back-to-back wins, the Hamilton Bulldogs ran out of steam ending a three-game weekend Sunday afternoon with a 5-1 loss to the Niagara Ice Dogs.

The Ice Dogs had a strong 1st period taking a 2-0 lead with a power-play goal followed by a goal on a penalty shot.

Niagara got the only goal of the 2nd period to take a 3-0 lead to the dressing room.

Brandon Saigeon (20) finally got Hamilton on the board just 34 seconds into the 3rd period, but the Ice Dogs scored two goals before the ten-minute mark to close out the scoring.

The Ice Dogs out-shot the Bulldogs 41-27 as Hamilton goalie Zachary Roy made 36 saves in the loss while IceDogs netminder Christian Sbaraglia made 26 save for his first career OHL win.

The Bulldogs play the Petes in Peterborough on Thursday December 6th before returning home to face off against the Flint Firebirds on Saturday December 8th at FirstOntario Centre at 4 pm.
