Brantford Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ONTARIO- After a sloppy effort in Owen Sound Wednesday night, the Hamilton Bulldogs rebounded with a 6-3 win at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph Friday night.
The night didn't get off to a good start for Bulldogs goalie Kaden Fulcher who gave up a goal on the first shot he faced one minute into the hockey game. However, his teammates rallied with three unanswered goals including the first ever OHL goal from Marian Studenic. Michael Cramarossa scored his second of the season with Niki Petti scoring on the power-play, his third of the season.
Guelph cut the lead to 3-2 before Cramarossa scored his second of the period and third of the season as the Bulldogs took a 4-2 lead to the dressing room.
Hamilton outshot Guelph 21-11 in the opening period. There was no scoring in the second as the Storm outshot the Bulldogs 13-4.
Things got interesting in the third as Guelph scored at the 53 second mark to cut the Hamilton lead to 4-3, but Isaac Nurse scored his first ever OHL goal to give the Bulldogs a 5-3 lead. MacKenzie Entwistle iced the win with an empty net goal, his fourth of the season.
Guelph outshot the Bulldogs 14-10 in the third for a 38-35 overall advantage.
Bulldogs newcomer Will Bitten made his debut in a Hamilton uniform and was held off the scoresheet. He did have five shots on goal and was 5 for 14 in the faceoff circle.
With the win the Bulldogs improve their season record to 3-1.
The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday night as they face the Niagara Ice Dogs at the Meridian Centre on St. Catharines at 7 o'clock.
