Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today that the club will host the 2012 Molson Canadian Hamilton Bulldogs Charity Golf Classic on October 9th, 2012 at Piper's Heath in Milton, Ontario. Participants will join Bulldogs Owner and Chairman, Michael Andlauer, Tournament Chair and President of New Horizon Homes, Jeff Paikin, as well as past, present and future members of the Bulldogs and Montreal Canadiens and other celebrities at this 11th annual event.

The Molson Canadian Hamilton Bulldogs Charity Golf Classic has raised more than $200,000 over the past 10 years. This year, proceeds will once again support the great work being done by the Bulldogs Foundation and the Dawgs Breakfast Program.

The mission of the Bulldogs Foundation is to enrich the lives of children and youth in the Greater Hamilton Area through the assignment of tickets, cash donations and gifts in kind. By doing so, it aims to promote the creativity of interactive programs involving education, physical fitness and personal well-being.

The Dawgs Breakfast Program allows over 2,000 students at three high-needs Hamilton schools (Barton Secondary School, Bennetto Elementary School and Parkview Secondary School) to start the day with a healthy and nutritious breakfast, allowing the students to focus on learning. Since the introduction of the program, student absenteeism has fallen from approximately 35 percent to 11 percent.
