Houston Aeros News Release

HOUSTON --- Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill today named the equipment staff for the American Hockey League (AHL) team's upcoming season. The Aeros are the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild.

Mike Lefczik (LEF-sik) has been promoted to head equipment manager for the Aeros, while Jared Mycyk (MIGH-sik) has been appointed the team's assistant equipment manager.

Lefczik started his career in hockey as a stick boy for the Philadelphia Phantoms (AHL) and was hired as a full-time assistant equipment manager in 2003. Mike's tenure with the Phantoms included a Calder Cup championship in 2005. In 2007, Lefczik was named the head equipment manager for the Alaska Aces (ECHL). He also worked with the Louisiana IceGators (SPHL) in 2010-11 before joining the Aeros as an assistant equipment manager prior to the 2011-12 season.

Mycyk joins the Aeros after spending last season with the Louisiana IceGators (SPHL). Prior to that, he worked for the Mississippi RiverKings (CHL) during the 2010-2011 season. He also worked as the head equipment manager for the Robert Morris University (Division I NCAA) Men's hockey program from 2004 (inaugural season) to 2010.

The Aeros will play 76 games this season, with the home portion of the schedule commencing on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 7:05 p.m. That game will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first Aeros game played by the World Hockey Association (WHA) team in 1972.

Aeros season tickets start as low as $9 per seat and may be purchased online at Aeros.com by placing a $100 deposit. Once your order is processed, an Aeros ticket representative will contact you to choose your exact seat location as well as discuss the payment option that best suits your needs. Single game tickets go on sale at a date to be determined.
