Lone Star Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - The Amarillo Bulls came to NYTEX on Friday winless against the Brahmas and after 60 minutes of play, that hadn't changed.
In the first period it was Kyle Patava breaking open the scoring after Peter Kessel caused a turnover in the neutral zone and dropped it off to the Air Force commit who then went top shelf.
The second frame was undoubtedly the most action packed as Oskar Andren, Kessel and Bud Madej all registered goals for the home team. In his 75th NAHL game, Andren's tally moved him past Alexey Solovyev for second all-time in Brahmas scoring.
Kessel's goal came off of a redirection in front after Cody Wickline sprung one towards the net. The goal was Kessel's fifth of the season.
Defensemen Bud Madej got on the scoresheet via a huge slap shot from the point that worked its way through traffic and Anton Martinsson.
In the middle of the scoring fiesta, John Zimmerman dropped the gloves with Jacob Nitsche of the Bulls in the ITS Tactical Fight of the Night that brought the crowd to it's feet.
The Bulls would score once when Johan Lundgren beat Conor O'Brien five-hole.
That shot would be the only as O'Brien picked up his fifth win of the season en route to the Brahmas 4-1 win.
The Battle of the Cattle will have it's seventh round of the season take place tomorrow night at NYTEX Sports Centre. Tickets are available up top under the TICKETS tab, at the box office or over the phone at 817-336-4ICE.
