Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
It's another important weekend on the way for the first place Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, as they try to extend their astounding hot streak with games on tap for the next three days. The 'Bugs will be in Oklahoma City on Friday night before returning home on Saturday to battle Texas in the first of a home-and-home series that will conclude on Sunday.
Join us on Saturday night 7:05 pm at CenturyTel Center as Bossier-Shreveport takes on the Texas Brahmas on NASCAR Night. The Mudbugs will wear their specialty NASCAR jerseys sponsored by Nelson Oil & Gas in the game and the jerseys will be auctioned off to the fans at the conclusion of the contest.
Saturday is also Girl Scout Night and Women in Sports Night. Girl Scout troops from throughout the Ark-La-Tex are eligible for discounted tickets for the Mudbugs and Brahmas. The troop that sells the most tickets will be invited back to sell cookies at the Mudbugs game on February 23rd. We will also recognize the achievements of girls and women participating in sports with appearances by Miss Teen Louisiana Lindsay Evans, the Shreveport Aftershock women's football team and the Bossier-Shreveport women's hockey league. The first 300 girls at the game will receive a free National Girls and Women in Sports Day poster. Only four Saturday home games remain in the regular season, so you won't want to miss the action on Saturday night between the Mudbugs and Brahmas.
Fresh off three straight wins against Wichita to complete a season sweep of the Thunder, the Mudbugs will try to accomplish that same feat against Oklahoma City on Friday night at the Ford Center . Bossier-Shreveport has won all four of their prior meetings with the Blazers this year, outscoring them 14-3 along the way. The Mudbugs are also trying to further their streak to 24 consecutive games without a regulation loss. The game will get underway at 7:35 at the Ford Center and can be heard live on 1130 AM KWKH with pregame coverage starting at 7:15. It will also be shown live online on the CHL Network.
Then following Saturday night's game in Bossier City, the Mudbugs and Brahmas will turn around and head to North Richland Hills, Texas for a Sunday afternoon game at 3:05 at the NyTex Sports Centre. The home-and-home set will feature the six and seventh meetings of the season between the Northeast Division rivals. The Mudbugs have gone 3-1-1 in their first five meetings with Texas , including three straight wins in late December. Sunday's game will also be broadcast on KWKH, with the pregame show set for 2:45.
