Youngstown SteelHounds News Release

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - Youngstown SteelHounds General Manager Joe Gregory announced today the Hounds will be welcoming a live African Penguin from The National Aviary to the Chevrolet Centre this weekend.

The Hounds will take on the Mississippi RiverKings on Friday, February 8th, Saturday, February 9th and Sunday, February 10th. Fans are encouraged to come out to this weekend's games and see Simon the African Penguin take part in the game activities.

"We are really looking forward to have Simon with us on Saturday", said Gregory. "We anticipated having with him with us earlier in the season, but the weather didn't cooperate. Hopefully Mother Nature is a little kinder to us on Saturday."

The National Aviary is America's only independent indoor nonprofit zoo dedicated exclusively to birds. Located in West Park on Pittsburgh's historic North Side, the National Aviary's diverse collection comprises 600 birds representing more than 200 species from around the world, many of them threatened or critically endangered in the wild. The National Aviary's large walk-through exhibits create an experience unlike any other - an intimate, up-close interaction between visitors and free-flying birds, including opportunities to hand-feed and to meet many species rarely found anywhere else in the world.

Also, this Friday and every Friday home game in February is Fan Appreciation Friday. All fans 21 years of age and older will be able to purchase 12 ounce beers for one dollar. For more information call the SteelHounds today at (330) 747-PUCK.
