Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

The Shreveport Mudbugs (4-4) squandered two early powerplay chances and stumbled after that falling to the Lone Star Brahmas, 4-1 in Game 3 of the South Division Finals series at George's Pond in Hirsch Coliseum Friday night.

LSB got on the board on their PP at 11:16 of the opening period when Ivan Zadvernyuk threw a shot in front from the left wing which deflected into the net to give the Brahmas a 1-0 edge. The visiting team added another at 14:33 as David Skuhrovec flipped in his first goal of the playoffs from the short side to make it 2-0.

SHV woke up the home crowd at 18:33 as Ryan Burke got in front to tip home his third goal of these playoffs and get the Bugs on the board at 2-1. Wil Murphy fired the shot towards the net from the right point and picked up the only assist. SHV led in SOG, 19-18 after two.

SHV couldn't generate many chances to tie the game up in the third period and it was Skuhrovec who shoveled home his second goal of the night which was an empty netter to push the lead to 3-1. LSB would add a goal from Owen Kerr on the PP again to close out a 4-1 victory over the Mudbugs.

The Bugs and Brahmas will play Game 4 of their South Division Finals series tomorrow night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:11 p.m. from George's Pond in Hirsch Coliseum as this will be the LAST home game of the 2023-2024 season and you can purchase your tickets by calling (318) 636-7094 or by emailing our Dir. of Ticket Sales Kimberly Jacks at kimberly@mudbugshockey.com.
