LAREDO, Texas - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks got a pair of goals from rookie All-Star forward Chris Korchinski as they beat the Arizona Sundogs 6-2 at the LEC. The Bucks out shot the Sundogs 45-15 and scored three special teams goals as they posted their eighth straight win and 13th in the last 15 games. Laredo is a Southern Conference best 22-8-2 with 46 points. The Bucks continue Fan Appreciation Weekend on Saturday at the LEC. The first 2,500 fans get a Bucky Dry Erase Memo Board. Arizona struck quickly with the league's third best power play unit as defenseman Daniel Laperrierre blasted home a slap shot from the high point at 4:54. The Bucks drew even on a power play chance of their own. Korchinski centered to fellow rookie forward Bobby Chaumont who lifted a backhander into the net at 18:56. It was his CHL rookie pacing and team leading 18th goal of the season.

In the second period the Bucks began to assert control of the game. Forward Neil Clark fed a beautiful pass to the left wing to streaking forward Leo Thomas who tipped it into the net at 14:28 for a 2-1 Laredo advantage. It was the 11th of the year for Thomas. Late in the frame the Bucks struck again on the man advantage. Korchinski cut out of the right corner to the front of the net and then swatted in the rebound of his own shot for his 12th of the season and a 3-1 lead at 18:41. Laredo out shot Arizona 14-4 in the second.

In the third period the Bucks extended their lead. Defenseman Paul Elliott fed a pass to the slot where forward Serge Dube one-timed it at 3:30 for his 10th of the season. The Sundogs scored a shorthanded goal as forward Brent Kelly set up forward Corey Stillman at 6:58, but the Bucks answered with a shorthanded tally of their own from Korchinski at 8:38. Forward Ryan Olynyk finished the scoring with his first of the season at 17:18 to give everyone in attendance a free frosty courtesy of Wendy's. FINAL SCORE Laredo 6, Arizona 2.

Eric Marvin stopped 13 of 15 shots and got the win to improve to 12-4-2. Chris King allowed six goals on 45 shots and fell to 10-6-0. The Bucks went 2-11 on the power play while Arizona was 1-11.
