
Bucks Season Ends With Game Seven Loss

ALLEN, TX- The Laredo Bucks fell to the Allen Americans 4-1 Wednesday night in game seven of the Central Hockey League Southern Conference semifinals at the Allen Event Center. The Americans won the best of seven series four games to three and advance to the conference finals to take on the Odessa Jackalopes.
Chris Whitley stopped 21 of 22 shots he faced while Nino Musitelli had one goal and two assists to lead the Americans to their first series win in franchise history. Whitley won all four games in the series for Allen.
The Bucks were outshot 34-22 in the contest to fall to 2-2 all-time in game sevens.
The Americans scored first for the fifth time in the seven game series when they struck with 3:19 left in the first period. Nino Musitelli scored on a backhander from the bottom of the left circle to pick up his fourth goal of the series.
Allen had a goal disallowed with 8:13 left in the first period when the officials ruled the puck was kicked in by an Americans player to keep the game scoreless at that point.
Laredo was outshot 7-6 in the first period.
Allen would increase their lead to 2-0 when they picked up a power-play goal with 9:27 left in the second period. Tobias Whelen scored on a tip in from the right circle to pick up his second marker of the series.
The Bucks were outshot in the second period 15-5 and gave Allen four power-play chances in the frame. Laredo's five shots was a second period low in the seven game series.
Todd Griffith cut the Allen lead to 2-1 just 4:30 into the third period when he hammered in a rebound from the left circle to score his team-leading sixth goal of the series.
Jordie Benn (11:12) and Bruce Graham (15:48) scored about five minutes apart to stretch Allen's lead to 4-1.
Pier Pelletier stoppd 30 of 34 shots as he fell to 3-4 in the series for Laredo.
Laredo falls to 13-6 when they can eliminate and opponent and 6-6 when facing elimination.
The Bucks have won 13 of their 19 playoff series' in franchise history.
