Bucks Pace Southern In 2007 CHL All-Star Game

BOSSIER CITY, Louisiana - The Laredo Bucks had a huge impact on the 2007 CHL All-Star Game Wednesday night in Bossier City, LA, as the Northern Conference beat the Southern Conference 9-6. Bucks defenseman Adam Rivet and forwards Bobby Chaumont and Chris Korchinski each scored a goal, despite the Southern Conference falling for the fourth straight season. The Bucks return home on Saturday against the Wichita Thunder. The Bucks are offering season tickets starting at $125 dollars. For more info call (956)-718-BUCK (2825).

Chaumont and Rivet each scored in the first period as the teams were tied at 3-3 after one period of play. Korchinski lit the lamp early in the second and the South had a 5-4 lead after two frames. The Northern Conference erupted to score five goals in the third period to power their way to the victory. FINAL SCORE Northern Conference 9, Southern Conference 6.

Jeff Christian scored the game winning goal for the Northern Conference All-Stars, one of his three points of the evening. The Northern Conference MVP went to Rio Grande Valley's Matt Medley representing the Tulsa Oilers. He had three points and finished plus five in the game. The Southern Conference MVP was awarded to Corpus Christi Goaltender Brent Zelenewich who stopped nine of ten shots in the second period.

This marks the fifth time in six years that the Northern Conference has beaten the Southern Conference and just the second time in the six year format of the game that the home conference has won.

Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski led the Southern Conference team, along with Equipment Manager Rusty Aldridge and A.T.C. Bobby Moore.

In addition former Buck Mark Wires, now playing for the Rocky Mountain Rage, had a pair of goals for the Northern Conference. Also former Buck Jeremy Symington, now playing for the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, started in goal for the Southern Conference and stopped 11 of 14 shots.

2006-07 BUCKS SINGLE GAME TICKETS ON SALE

- Single game tickets for the Bucks start at $14.95. Of the 32 home games, 25 will take place on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Game times will remain the same for the 2006-07 season. Weekday games begin at 7 p.m., while Friday and Saturday night games are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday games will be at 4 p.m.
