Bucks Nip Rays In Shootout 4-3

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League beat the Corpus Christi Ice Rays 4-3 in a shootout Tuesday night at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The Bucks picked up their fourth straight home win, and their second straight overall as they improve to 12-4-4 (28 points). Laredo is now three points behind Allen for second place in the Southern Conference.

Darryl Smith scored the game-winning goal in the shootout, while Maxime Lincourt scored two-power-play goals to lead the Bucks to the win. The Bucks are 9-2-2 since November 4th, including 5-1-1 since Thanksgiving.

J.P Levasseur stopped 25 of 28 shots, and set aside all four of the Ice Rays shootout attempts. Levasseur is now 10-1-3 in net this season.

The Ice Rays jumped out in front of the Bucks as they scored two goals in the first 7:36 of the first period.

Chris Richards put the Ice Rays up 1-0 when he stole the puck at the Bucks blue line and hammered in a slap shot from just inside the zone. The goal was Richard's fifth of the season.

Corpus made it 2-0 when Richards stole the puck from behind the Bucks net and found an open Chad Costello who scored from just outside the crease. It Costello's sixth of the season. The Ice Rays have lost four out of their last five games.

Laredo (7-1-3 at home) cut the Corpus lead to 2-1 when Curtis Billsten deflected Adam Rivet's slap shot from the point. The strike was Billsten's first as a Buck, with Rivet and Jeff Bes picking up assists. With the assist Rivet passes Brent Cullaton for fifth place all-time in Bucks history with 123 assists.

The Bucks outshot the Ice Rays in the first period 12-5.

Laredo would score two more power-play goals 45 seconds apart in the second period, both by Lincourt, to take a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes of play.

Lincourt tied the game at 2-2 when he stuffed in a rebound from the left side of the crease with the Bucks on a two-man advantage 6:15 into the period.

The Bucks would take a 3-2 lead just 45 seconds later when Lincourt scored another power-play goal, this time from the bottom of the left circle to pot his ninth of the season. Lincourt had his first multi-goal game since the Bucks home opener on October 24th.

Laredo outshot Corpus in the second period 10-9. The Bucks improve to 10-0-2 when they lead after two periods this season.

Chad Woollard tied the game at 3-3 for Corpus just 3:51 into the third period. The goal was Woollard's team-leading 10th of the season.

The Bucks killed off a five-on-three power-play early in the third period to keep the game tied.

Neither team could score in overtime, with the Bucks outshooting the Ice Rays 5-2.

Laredo outshot Corpus for the game 38-28.

Kevin Nastiuk set aside 35 of 38 shots for the Ice Rays (8-10-3).

Jeff Bes picked up two assists to move into 15th place all-time in CHL history with 347 assists.

The Bucks now have 299 franchise wins.

**BUCKS TO DELIVER TOYS DEC. 14TH**

The Bucks, in conjunction with Doctors Hospital, collected 157 toys for their annual toy drive at Saturday's (Dec 5th) game at the Laredo Entertainment Center.

Bucks players and front office staff members will deliver the toys to the pediatric cancer patients at Doctors Hospital on December 14th.
