Missouri's Jeff Christian Wins Weekly Award

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Missouri player/assistant coach Jeff Christian has been voted the winner of the CHL Performance of the Week for the week of November 23-29 for his goal on Thanksgiving Day in Tulsa that accounted for his 500th professional goal.
The Burlington, Ontario native's second period goal in Tulsa helped the Mavericks to a 5-4 victory. Of his professional goals, 152 have been scored in the CHL with the 2005-06 season with Youngstown serving as the high water mark with 55 scores. So far this season, the veteran has eight goals and 15 assists and is the leading scorer for the expansion Mavericks.
A total of 1,213 votes were cast with Christian receiving 517 votes accounting for 43%. Finishing second were the Colorado Eagles who received 395 votes for their 10-goal offensive outburst on November 25 versus Amarillo.
The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week eight of the season (the period between November 30-December 6) are as follows:
-Colorado's Aaron Schneekloth scoring two goals including game winner in 3-2 win at Wichita on December 6
-Odessa's Brian Swiniarski scoring game-tying goal late in third period and game winning goal in shootout win versus Laredo on December 4
-Rapid City's Les Reaney scoring a hat trick in 6-3 win over Tulsa on December 5
-Missouri's Alexandre Vincent recording Mavericks first franchise shutout making 21 saves in a 4-0 win versus Wichita on December 4
-Mississippi's Louis Dumont scoring four third period goals in 6-3 comeback win versus Colorado on December 4
Fans can vote for the winner until Monday, December 14 with the winner being announced on Tuesday, December 15.
