The Bucks and Killer Bees will have an early battle for position in the Southeast Division. Laredo will enter the contest on top with an 8-4 mark (16pts), while Rio is currently third at 6-1-2 (14pts). A Bucks win in regulation would put them four points up on the Killer Bees, with Laredo playing three more games than Rio thus far.

The Bucks beat Killer Bees 5-2 on November 8, in the first of three straight victories for Laredo. The Bucks then beat Wichita Friday 2-1, and shutout Bossier-Shreveport on Saturday 4-0, earning goaltender Sebastien Centomo CHL goaltender of the week honors for his 30 save shutout performance against the Mudbugs.

Laredo's 5-2 triumph on November 8 gave Rio their first regulation loss of the season. After starting 5-0, the Killer Bees are 1-1-2 in their last four games.

In their current three game winning streak the Bucks defense has stiffened, allowing just three goals combined in their last three games.

The Bucks are 1-2 against the Killer Bees so far this season, losing both games in Rio by 5-2, and 3-1 scores, while winning the lone game at the LEC.

Jeff Bes has picked up right where he left off last season, as he is currently tied for third in the league in scoring with 20 points (3-17=20). Bes' 17 assists lead the CHL, as do his 10 power-play helpers.

The Bucks have five players who have 10 or more points so far this season.

The Killer Bees, despite having a 6-1-2 mark, are fourteenth in the league in goals scored with 34. Rio's defense however, have only allowed 24 goals this season, good for a second-place league ranking.

Rio has just two players who are in double digit's in scoring, Trevor Weisgerber (3-8=11), and Jesse Bennefield (4-6=10).

Thursday's game will be the fourth of 14 meetings between the Bucks and Killer Bees, and the second of seven at the LEC.

Laredo will host Amarillo on Saturday at the LEC, with a post game skate. Group tickets start at $10.
