Bucks Host Austin Tonight, Look To Snap Skid

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will host division foe Austin at the LEC tonight as they look to snap a three-game losing streak. Game time is set for 7pm.

The Bucks look to get back on track tonight and snap their three game losing streak (0-2-1).

Sunday the Bucks were shutout at home 3-0 by Arizona, despite outshooting the Sundogs 35-23. The loss was only the seventh time ever the Bucks were shutout at home in 212 games at the LEC (including playoffs).

Kevin Beech suffered his first regulation loss of the season (6-1-1) as he set aside 20 of 22 Arizona shots he faced in net.

Jeff Bes is fourth in the CHL in scoring with 35 points, despite not registering a point in five straight games. Bes has scored 14 goals, and handed out 21 assists so far this season.

Laredo will start Dustin Traylen in net tonight against the Ice Bats. Traylen is 10-5-1 this season, with a 2.30 goals against average, and a .917 save percentage with three shutouts. Traylen has not played against the Ice Bats this season.

Austin will be looking to win their second game in a row tonight against the Bucks. On Saturday the Ice Bats beat Rio Grande Valley at home 5-2, as five different players scored goals. Jaimie Thompson notched one goal and handed out two assists to lead Austin. Miguel Beaudry picked up the win in net setting aside 33 of 35 Killer Bees shots.

Jason Tessier (8-10=18) and Brendan Cook (7-11=18) lead the Ice Bats in scoring with 18 points each. Beaudry has played the bulk of the games in net for Austin, going 4-9-0, with a 4.01 goals against average, and a .889 save percentage.

After tonight's game with Austin the Bucks will travel to Corpus Christi to play the Rayz Friday night.

The Bucks are collecting toys for the children of Laredo. All this month you can drop off a toy to donate at the LEC, either during Bucks games or normal business hours. **Bucks Notes**

*So far this season the Bucks have had success playing against fellow Southern Conference teams, posting a 16-3-1 record against them, including a 9-2 mark against Southeast Division foes. The Bucks have lost two straight games to division opponents, both to Corpus Christi.

* The Bucks are 0-0-1 this season playing on Wednesday's. (4-3 shootout loss to Odessa Nov 21). After tonight the Bucks will play just twice more on Wednesday's, January 30th vs. Rocky Mountain, and February 27th against Corpus Christi.

* So far this season the Bucks are 11-1-1 when leading after two periods, conversely they are just 1-5 when trailing after two, including last night's loss at Corpus Christi.

*So far this season the Bucks are 6-3-2 in one-goal games, including 3-0 in overtime. The Bucks are 0-2 in shootouts this season.
