April 4, 2008: Southern Conference Semi-Finals Game 4
#1 Laredo at #4 Odessa, 7:05pm, Ector County Coliseum
Bucks lead series 3-0

Laredo has dominated Odessa in the first three games of the series, outscoring the âJacks by a combined 16-7. Even though the Bucks were out shot in game three 32-29, they still have out shot the âJacks 119-73 combined in games one through three.
The series shifted to Odessa Wednesday night, but with the same result, a Laredo win.
Laredo came out and scored in the first 44 seconds of the game, eventually building a 4-0 lead that would develop into a 6-2 win. The Bucks scored two goals in each of the three periods. Alex Goupil scored a goal and added two assists, with Chris Korchinski, Igor Agarunov, and Chris Stanley each scoring a goal and handing out an assist. Goupil, who played for Odessa head coach Paul Gillis in Danbury of the UHL, has scored at least one point in all three games of the series (2-4=6). Dustin Traylen has won all three games in net for the Bucks, stopping a combined 66 of 73 âJacks attempts.
Through the first three games of the series Adam Rivet leads the Bucks in scoring (3-4=7), and has scored a goal in all three contests.
Laredo has been getting good offensive production from two of their lines. The line of Stanley, Hiebert, and Jeff Bes, have totaled 15 points (7-8=15), while the line of Korchinski Goupil, and Agarunov have combined for 13 points (6-7=13).
The Bucks look to sweep a playoff series for just the third time in their history Friday night. Laredo has swept two of their 12 series wins, the 2004 Conference Semi-Finals three games to nothing over Rio, and the 2005 Southern Conference Finals four games to none over Amarillo. Laredo is 12-3 all-time when they can eliminate their opponent in a playoff series.
Odessa's troubles extended to the goaltender position in game three, as Gillis replaced his rookie goaltender Alexandre Vincent for Veteran Mike Gorman. Vincent was pulled after the Bucks took a 4-0 lead in the second period. Vincent faced 109 shots through the first seven and a half periods of the series, stopping 95 of them. Gorman stopped eight of 10 Laredo shots he faced in game three. Vincent is now 2-4 in the playoffs.
If the Bucks sweep the series on Friday night they will await the winner of the Arizona/New Mexico series, which the Sundogs lead two games to one. If the Jackalopes win game four, then the Bucks will try and close out the series in game five on Saturday in Odessa.
