Bucks Blanked 3-0 In Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks were shutout 3-0 by the Lubbock Cotton Kings on the road on Saturday night. Cotton Kings goalie J.F. Perras stopped all 32 Bucks shots as Laredo's two game win streak came to an end. The Bucks are 14-8-2, with a Southern Conference best 30 points, and remain in first place in the Southeast Division. The Bucks are home this Friday against Corpus Christi. The first 2,500 fans receive a Coach Terry Ruskowski Bobblehead doll courtesy of AT&T and Cingular. Fans can get four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas (a $100 value) for $48. The Bucks are offering a family four pack of season tickets for the 2006-07 CHL regular season, which works out to just over $7 a seat per game and is a 48 % savings off walkup prices. The teams exchanged chances in the first period, combining for 25 shots, but neither team was able to score.

Early in the second period Lubbock took the lead as forward Simon Watson took a pass in the slot and wristed home the puck high glove side at 2:50. Watson leads all CHL rookies with 14 goals. The Cotton Kings added to their lead as forward Ross McCain slipped the puck five hole into the net at 6:45 to make it 2-0 Lubbock. Late in the period the Cotton Kings again added to their lead as defenseman Marc Bianchi swept in the loose puck after a wild scramble in front at 18:43.

The Bucks fired 15 shots in the third, but were unable to break the goose egg. FINAL SCORE Lubbock 3, Laredo 0.

Perras picked up his first shutout of the season and improved to 5-4-1. Eric Marvin played well, stopping 32 of 35, but fell to 8-4-2. Each team was 0-9 on the power play. Lubbock out shot the Bucks 35-32.

2006-07 BUCKS SINGLE GAME TICKETS ON SALE
