The Bucks and Ice Bat conclude their regular season series today, with the Bucks looking to not only break a two-game overall losing streak, but a three game losing streak to Austin.
The last two nights the Bucks fell in Austin, losing 5-2 Friday night, and 4-1 last night.
Last night's game saw the Ice Bats score three second period goals to jump ahead 3-0, Steve Simoes scored with 1:59 left in the game to pull Laredo to within 3-1, but moments later Austin tallied an empty netter to seal the deal.
The Bucks lead in the Southern Conference has been trimmed to five points over Arizona (62 to 57), with the Bucks having to play 17 more games, and the Sundogs suiting up 19 more times.
Jeff Bes is second in the CHL in scoring with 73 points (29-44=73), four points behind Arizona's Alex Leavitt (77).
Laredo should be happy to be back at home, as they are a league-best 19-5 at the LEC, and just 11-10-2 on the road.
Austin has climbed back into the playoff race, as they are just one point back from Amarillo for fifth in the Southern Conference. Since January 1st the Ice Bats are 11-3.
The Bucks will face the CHL trading deadline tomorrow at 3pm, and then be back in action Tuesday at Rio Grande Valley.
