
Buchter Activated From Disabled List Tuesday

KODAK, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, have added LHP Ryan Buchter to the active roster in advance of the team's game tonight in Montgomery. In a related roster move, RHP Jake Muyco was promoted to Triple-A Iowa.
Buchter was 7-1 with a 4.31 ERA before being placed on the disabled list on July 29. In 36 relief appearances he allowed 40 hits, 25 runs (19 earned) and 33 walks, while striking out 51. The Southern League All-Star currently leads the league with 10 holds. The Gloucester, N.J. native was originally selected by the Washington Nationals in the 33rd round of the 2005 MLB First-Year Player Draft, and then was traded to the Cubs in 2008 for RHP Matt Avery.
Muyco was 4-2 with a 3.67 ERA in 40 relief appearances for Tennessee this season. In 56.1 innings, he has allowed 70 hits, 26 runs (23 earned) and 12 walks, while striking out 23. He was drafted by the Cubs in the 33rd round of the 2005 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
