Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

BOSSIER CITY, LA – Tonight, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will host the Northeast Division rival Fort Worth Brahmas at 7:05 p.m. at the CenturyTel Center. Tonight will also mark the conclusion of one of the most remarkable accomplishments in Mudbugs history. Trevor Buchanan's streak of 224 consecutive games played will come to an end.

Buchanan, an original member of the Mudbugs franchise, was suspended by the Central Hockey League on Tuesday for a roughing incident that took place on Saturday November 1st against the Memphis RiverKings. Tonight, he will miss his first Mudbugs regular season game since February 19, 2000. The streak of 224 consecutive games was longest such current streak in the CHL.

The Lacombe, Alberta native is the Mudbugs all-time leader in games played, points, goals, and assists. With his 409 games played as a Mudbug, he has missed just four regular season games in franchise history. However, tonight will be the first time in over three years that Buchanan's name will not appear in the Mudbugs lineup.

He is currently in his 13th season of professional hockey and seventh with the Mudbugs. With his absence, the Mudbugs also lose one of their top scorers of the 2003-04 season. Buchanan is currently tied for the team lead in scoring with three goals and three assists in the first six games. After serving his one-game suspension, he will return to the Mudbugs lineup on Saturday night when the team travels to Fort Worth for a rematch with the Brahmas at the Fort Worth Convention Center at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are currently available for tonight's Mudbugs game at the CenturyTel Center against the Fort Worth Brahmas through Ticketmaster by calling 318-741-9700 or through www.ticketmaster.com.
