Utah Flash News Release

PROVO, Utah, October 10, 2009 - Former Utah Jazz player Bryon Russell will return Saturday to Salt Lake City to appear with Utah Flash owner Brandt Andersen. Russell will travel from Los Angeles to Utah to promote the proposed one-on-one match with Michael Jordan. The one-on-one game organized to benefit charity is set to take place at the Utah Flash home opener Dec. 7.

The owner of the Utah Flash will appear with Russell for the first time since Andersen threw out the offer challenging Russell and Michael Jordan three weeks ago. Andersen and Russell will be speaking at the first conference held by Maakoa at the Grand America in down town SLC at 10:30 am. Maakoa and the Utah Flash entered into a marketing partnership last month.

Russell, who recently committed to play one-on-one against Jordan at the Flash home opener, will speak to a group of over 500 Maakoa distributors. Last month Andersen suggested a rematch between Russell and Jordan after watching Jordan's Hall of Fame induction speech.

"These guys need to have a rematch and Utah is the place where this should happen. Michael Jordan is such a competitor I can only expect that he will show up to defend his Hall of Fame remarks," Andersen said.

The challenge has been extended to Jordan to take on Russell in a one-on-one rematch at the Utah Flash home opener Dec. 7. Andersen has offered to donate $100,000 to the winner's charity of choice. Russell has committed to be waiting and ready Dec. 7 when the two may face off for the first time since the 1998 NBA Finals.
