Bryan Yim Named Easton North Division Star of the Week

PORT HURON, MI -The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are pleased to announce that team captain Bryan Yim has been named the Easton North Division Star of the Week for the week ending February 23, 2014. Yim tallied four points on two goals and two assists in Port Huron's weekend sweep over the Janesville Jets at McMorran Arena.
The Farmington, MI native's empty net goal sealed the Fighting Falcons' 4-0 shutout Saturday, as he scored from just in front of winning goalie Max Milosek. Yim had assisted on a Jonathan Kopacka power play goal earlier in the third period as well.
Yim netted the game-winner Sunday, as he scored just 29 seconds after teammate Zach Badalamenti to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 Fighting Falcons lead. A third-period assist on Vito Aluia's goal gave Port Huron a 3-1 win and a four-game winning streak.
In eight games against the Jets this year, Yim led the Fighting Falcons with 12 points on three goals and nine assists. Yim leads the team with 38 points on 14 goals and 24 assists in 46 games this season.
Fighting Falcons skaters have taken home Player of the Week honors five times this season. Yim joins Alex Archibald, who won twice, and Matt Seidel, and Jonathan Kopacka, who each won once.
Yim and the rest of the Fighting Falcons will hit the road the next two weekends, as they travel to the Soo for the final time of the regular season this weekend before wrapping up the season series with the Springfield Jr. Blues March 7 and 8.
The team returns to home ice Wednesday, March 12 for a 6 p.m. matchup with the in-state rival Michigan Warriors. The Fighting Falcons are just 2-4-2 against the Warriors this season, with four games remaining against Michigan in March.
