Syracuse Silver Knights News Release
SYRACUSE, New York - Bryan OQuinn made 20 saves in the contest but it was not enough as the Waza Flo used a big 4th quarter to improve to 4-3 on the season, knocking off the Silver Knights 8-4 on Sunday afternoon.
The Waza Flo used two first quarter goals to jump out to a 2-0 first quarter lead. The first quarter saw the Silver Knights in control but no bounces would go the Silver Knight way. Several shots found posts, cross bars, and diving hands to keep the shutout alive for the Flo.
Ubparipovic was able to cut the lead down to 1 before the half ended mid way through the second quarter after the Silver Knights drew a penalty kick. The momentum swing was just what the Silver Knights needed going into the second half.
The 3rd quarter belonged all to the Silver Knights. Jer Jer Gibson and Bo Jelovac were able to score just 2:30 apart early in the 3rd giving the Silver Knights their first lead of the game. All looked well for the Silver Knights heading into the 4th and final quart but the Waza Flo had other plans.
Danny Dragol scored just 12 seconds into the 4th quarter and Ivan Campos was able to add another just 4 minutes later. That was all the momentum swing the Waza Flo needed to break things open. The Waza Flo were able to put away 6 goals in the final frame, including 2 with a Silver Knight 6th attacker out.
In all the Silver Knights were able to put on 23 shots against Dias in the Waza goal but only 4 found the back of the net for the Silver Knights.
Bryan O'Quinn and company return home this Friday night, December 11th for Star Wars night. The team will be wearing specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. For more information on tickets please call 315-303-7261.
