Austin, MN- The Bruins kicked off the season tonight at Riverside Arena in front of 12,064 fans. As they took on the crosstown rival the Owatonna Express. The first period the Express controled play as Chris Bournazos tallied a 5 on 3 power play goal to make it 1-0. With no scoring in the second period as both goalies showed off there skill between the pipes the score remained 1-0. In the third period James Dickinson, the first tendered player in Bruins history shoveled in the tying goal halfway through the third. Answering quickly was Owatonna's Blake Schammel late in the third giving Owatonna the game winning goal.
Next weekend the Bruins face off against the Robertson Cup champions Bismarck Bobcats. Bring the family down to Riverside Arena for some great hockey action.
