Austin Bruins News Release
AUSTIN, MN - Minot scored three times in the second period to put the game out reach and skate away with an eventual 4-2 win over the Bruins at Riverside Arena on Saturday night.
It was 1-0 Minotauros through one period after Johnny Walker's breakaway goal at 16:12 of the opening period, coming out of the penalty box and putting a move on Bruins goaltender Kris Carlson. In the 2nd, Casey Springman, Walker, and Christian Mohs added onto the lead and made it 4-0 though two periods.
Jacob Paganelli broke the shutout with a nifty breakaway goal 6:30 into the 3rd period, and Austin Rueschhoff scored for his 3rd game in a row with a powerplay tally in the final minute, but it was too little too late and the Bruins came up short. Minot won their 8th game in a row and swept the weekend. They lead the Central Division by 7 points.
The Bruins start a four game road trip in Aberdeen on Friday. Game time is 7:15 PM.
