ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - Peter Sivak scored twice and assisted on two goals, and goaltender Kevin Carr won his third straight start as the Alaska Aces completed a three-game sweep of the visiting Utah Grizzlies with a 5-3 victory Sunday at the Sullivan Arena.

The Aces have a 5 game winning streak, dating back to November 19 at Wichita.

The Aces built a 3-0 lead in the first period, kicked off by Tommy Olczyk's 3rd goal of the season at 3:17. Olczyk batted a deflected centering pass from Nolan Descoteaux out of mid-air and past Utah goaltender Ryan Faragher. Vladimir Nikiforov also assisted.

Sivak struck for the first time at 7:25 as he snapped home a rebound of a Descoteaux shot, top shelf from the deep slot, his 12th goal of the season. Steve Tarasuk collected the second assist.

Then Tim Coffman got into the act at 14:59, scoring on a bang-bang play that could only be described as bang-bang. Sivak went into the right corner and with one swipe of the stick batted the puck to Coffman who one-timed a shot that Faragher barely saw. 3-0 Aces at the end of one period.

Some push-back from Utah in the second, as Erik Bradford scored his third goal of the season unassisted at 4:25. 3-1 Alaska after two.

On to the third period, and Utah got closer on Eric Higby's unassisted breakaway goal at 1:03 after an Aces turnover on the power play. The shortie closed the gap to 3-2 Aces.

Danny Moynihan returned the favor at 6:13 as he and Sivak came down the ice on a two on one. Sivak directed a pass past a sliding defenseman from the left circle and Moynihan buried his one-timer from the right to increase the Alaska lead to 4-2.

Once again, Utah push-back with Higby popping in a close range shot with his goalie pulled and an extra attacker on the ice at 17:46. Assists to Brandon McNally and Sam Windle.

The deal was sealed with Sivak's open-net goal at 19:18. Moynihan drifted through the neutral zone seemingly looking for a shooting lane. He went wide left, and spotted Sivak wide on the right and found him with the puck. Sivak drilled it home for his second goal of the game, 13th of the season.

Carr was solid once again for Alaska, winning his third straight game and making 33 saves. Faragher finished the night with 20 saves.

Alaska was 1-5 on the power play...Utah 0-4.

With the win, the Aces go to 11-4-0-1. The Grizzlies drop to 4-10-1-1.

Alaska next plays on the road at Idaho this Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
