Brooklyn Cyclones News Release

July 6, 2005 -- Brooklyn (10-6) lost the first game of its three game set with Staten Island (10-5) by the score of 6-1 on Wednesday night at KeySpan Park. The Cyclones were unable to come up with the big hits tonight. They had runners in scoring position on four different occasions and came away with nothing. Overall they left eight batters on base, five of them in scoring position.

Jeff Landing (1-2) pitched well tonight, but was the victim of some porous defense. In five innings, he gave up two runs, one earned, on four hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

Ivan Naccarata had the lone Cyclone run. He hit his first home run of the season, which was also his first professional home run. He is the seventh different Cyclone to homer this season.

Brooklyn continues its series against the Yankees tomorrow night. It is Irish Heritage night and there will be a Highland Rovers Concert following the game. The first 2,500 fans will receive Green T-shirts to commemorate the occasion. Great seats are still available. You can call (718)-507-TIXX, go to Brooklyn Cyclones.com or come down to the box office at 1904 Surf Avenue.
