Swift Current Broncos News Release
Swift Current, Sask. - The Swift Current Broncos announced today they have signed 2008-born forward Sawyer Dingman to a Standard Player Agreement. The Broncos drafted Dingman 30th overall in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.
From Edmonton, AB, Dingman spent the 2022-23 season with the Northern Alberta Xtreme U15 Prep team, recording 34 points (11-23-34) in 30 regular season games and logging five points (4-1-5) during their 5-game playoff stint.
The 6'2'' left-shot forward played 5 games in the 2023 Alberta Cup, picking up 4 goals and an assist.
"We see him being a player who's going to contribute a lot of ways for our organization, and we're really excited about the pick," said Broncos general manager Chad Leslie. "I just love the individual sense and his individual touches. He's such a good small area player, he thinks the game extremely well, makes some really good plays and he likes getting to the net and being physical."
Dingman is the son of Chris Dingman, former NHLer, and two-time Stanley Cup champion.
He becomes the first member of the Broncos 2023 draft class to sign with the team.
