Broncos Season Ends with Overtime Loss to Raiders
April 29, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Swift Current Broncos News Release
After Reece Vitelli's second goal of the game to give the Raiders a 5-3 lead, the game took a dramatic turn as Paddock was ejected from the game.
After a snow shower from Josh Davies, Paddock began raining punches down on Davies and was ejected for an intent to injure game misconduct, forcing Carter Serhyenko into action.
After Mathew Ward scored on the ensuing power play, the game remained 5-4 into the final minutes. With Dyck on the bench for the extra attacker, Prince Albert turned the puck over at their own blue line and Farren threw it on net.
Serhyenko made the save, but Cole Nagy backhanded the rebound in to tie the game with 1:03 left on the clock, setting the stage for overtime.
Just 54 seconds into overtime, Ozzy Wiesblatt ended the game with the winner on a breakaway.
The Broncos would like to congratulate Michael Farren, Kaleb Bulych and Owen Williams who have now graduated from the Western Hockey League.
As well as a thank you to all the fans, sponsors and support staff that made the 2020-21 season possible.
