Broncos Plate Seven Runs in the Sixth, Earn 14-3 Victory

The Broncos turned a tight game into a laugher with seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning against the Colts to cruise to the 14-3 victory.

RHP Juan Peralta (3-1) made his sixth start for the Broncos, taking on the San Angelo Colts. On the mound for the Colts was RHP Brian Henschel (2-4), making his eighth start for the Colts.

The Broncos came out of the gate swinging in the bottom of the first. They picked up four hits in the inning. The big hit; a Jonathan Cisneros two run double in the bottom of the first to put the Broncos up 3-0.

The Colts rallied in the top of the second to tie the game at three all. An RBI double by Josh Collazzo put the Colts on the board and made the score 3-1. Tyler Goodro followed with an RBI ground out to cut the lead to 3-2 Broncos. A sacrifice fly off the bat of Mikey Horn tied the game after an inning and a half.

The game stayed tied until the bottom of the sixth when the Broncos bats exploded against Colt's pitching. The Broncos sent 11 men to the plate and plated seven runs in the inning on five hits to take a 10-3 lead over the Colts.

The Broncos added four more runs in the bottom of the eighth to make their lead to 14-3 over the Colts.

Peralta pitched seven innings, allowing just two hits and three runs. He walked four and struck out eight.

Mark Ramos, the second baseman for the Colts entered the game with a 26 game on base streak that he would see end against the Broncos pitching. Along with Ronnie Gaines who was unable to continue his 23 game hitting streak against the Broncos.

Pacing the Broncos offense was Jonathan Cisneros who went two for three and notched three RBI's and D.J Dixon who went two for five and picked up three RBI for the Broncos.

The Broncos head out onto the road starting tomorrow with one game in Harlingen against the White Wings and then will travel to Robstown for four games in three days against the Thunder followed by four games in three days with the Edinburg Road Runners.
