Bromberg Gets Twelfth Win as Miracle Edge Cardinals

JUPITER -- David Bromberg surrendered two runs in six innings and Blair Erickson got the save in the ninth as Fort Myers evened a three- game series with a 4-3 win at Roger Dean Stadium on Tuesday night.

Bromberg (12-2) held the Palm Beach Cardinals to just three hits as he walked three and struck out six. Matt Williams worked an inning and a third, and was charged with a run due to an inherited runner after Joe Testa entered and gave up two hits. Testa recorded two outs and struck out one.

Despite a leadoff walk, Blair Erickson came on in the ninth and recorded his twelfth save of the season with one strikeout and no hits.

Fort Myers never trailed after building a 3-0 lead in the first two innings. Ben Revere was 2-for-4 with a run scored out of the leadoff spot, while Estarlin de Los Santos was 3-for-4 as the second hitter. Evan Bigley, Joe Benson, and Nick Romero each had two hits.

Brian Broderick (7-6) was handed the loss. He surrendered four earned runs on nine hits in his six innings, with one walk and one strikeout.

The series culminates in Wednesday's 7:05 p.m. finale. Fort Myers now leads the season series, 9-8.
