Johnstown Tomahawks News Release

JOHNSTOWN - Carson Brière capped off a dramatic comeback with an overtime goal to seal a 3-2 win over the Northeast Generals and their 15th consecutive win Saturday evening.

Johnstown got to work early in the first period as the team fired home the first goal of the game when Austin Friesen ripped wrist shot past the glove side of Generals goalie David Fessenden. Andy Nedeljkovic and Christian Gorscak assisted on Friesen's second of the season.

The Generals tied the game at the 13:29 mark of the period after Michael Higgins' shot beat Carter McPhail. For Higgins, the goal was his second of the season.

Louis Boudon cracked the 1-1 tie late in the second period to put the Generals in front 2-1.

The Tomahawks never gave up and battled back in the third period to tie the game at 2-2 when Hunter Toale fired a power play goal behind Fessenden. Sam Solensky and Oliver Benwell assisted on Toale's first of the season.

Regulation solved nothing and both teams skated into the overtime period tied at 2-2.

It would another Tomahawks come-from-behind win as Brière finished a pass from Cameron Hebert to give the Tomahawks a 3-2 overtime win and their 15th consecutive win.

The Generals and Tomahawks meet again, this time at New England Sports Village for a two-game series starting Saturday, Dec. 1 at Attleboro, Mass.
