
Bridgeport Signs Former Third Round Draft Pick

Bridgeport, Conn. -Bridgeport Bluefish team officials today announced the signing of pitcher Ross Seaton.
"Ross has a lot of good experience at the higher levels of affiliated ball," says Bluefish Manager Luis Rodriguez. "We're excited to have him on the team during our post-season push."
Ross Seaton comes to Bridgeport for his ninth season of professional baseball and first in the Atlantic League. Last year, the pitcher split time between Single-A West Michigan of the Midwest League and Triple-A Toledo of the International League, both affiliates of the Detroit Tigers. In 23 combined games, he finished the season with a 3.88 ERA and 95 strikeouts in 143.2 innings. The 26-year-old made his professional debut in 2008 when he was selected by the Houston Astros in the third round of the MLB draft. He spent seven years with the Astros organization, reaching as high as the Triple-A level with Oklahoma City of the Pacific Coast League from 2012-14. In 176 career minor league appearances, Ross owns a 46-60 record with a 4.83 ERA and 594 strikeouts in 927.2 innings of work.
