(Bridgeport, Conn. - May 3, 2012) - The Bridgeport Bluefish (5-2) completed the sweep of a three-game series against the Long Island Ducks (3-4) by a score of 8-2 at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Thursday night.

Bridgeport starter, Paul Oseguera (1-0) was strong as he worked six innings and allowed one run on five hits and two walks while fanning five. Jonah Bayliss came out of the bullpen and delivered a scoreless frame and Joe Bateman finished off the contest with two scoreless innings of his own.

Long Island hurler, Joe Esposito (0-2) suffered the loss as the starter lasted six innings while the Bridgeport bats produced seven runs on five hits and seven walks while striking out four. Eric Niesen finished the contest out of the bullpen for the Ducks. He threw two innings and surrendered a run on five hits and fanned a batter.

The scoring started in the first frame. The bases were loaded on walks, with two outs, when Collin DeLome smacked a grand slam to rightcenter. The homer snapped the longest stretch of homerless games to start a season by a Bluefish team and gave the home squad a four-run advantage.

Bridgeport scored three more times in the second inning courtesy of a Joey Gathright two-run triple to rightcenter and a sacrifice fly by Kennard Jones to increase the lead to seven.

Eddie Rogers capped off the night with his first shot of the year. The solo drive to left was the second Bridgeport home run of the evening.
