(Bridgeport, Conn., May 3, 2012) - The Bridgeport Bluefish defeated the Long Island Ducks 8-2 on Thursday night in the final game of a three-game series at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

Bridgeport jumped out to a 7-0 lead against Ducks starter Joe Esposito with four runs in the first and three more in the second. A grand slam by Colin DeLome, a two-run triple from Joey Gathright and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Kennard Jones did the damage.

Long Island responded with a run in the third off Bluefish starter Paul Oseguera on a sac fly to right by Dan Lyons. A RBI single from Lew Ford in the eighth cut the deficit to five, but the Ducks could not inch closer.

Oseguera (1-0) picked up the win, tossing six innings, allowing a run on five hits while striking out six. Esposito (0-2) suffered the loss, surrendering seven runs on five hits and seven walks in six innings of work.
