LOWELL-The Connecticut Tigers (13-18) received six scoreless innings from RHP Endrys Briceno (2-2), a season- high, en route to a 6-1 win over the Lowell Spinners (9-22) in the series-opener at LeLacheur Park on Thursday night.

The Tigers mobilized their offense to score a run in the third inning without a hit. 3B Edgar Corcino (0-3) and CF Jake Stewart (0-3) earned back to back walks. SS Jared Reaves (1-3) laid down a sacrifice bunt to move both runners into scoring position.

LF Danry Vasquez (0-4) grounded out to the SS Devin Marero to score Corcino for a 1-0 lead.

Connecticut plated two runs in the fifth inning with just one hit. Vasquez walked and moved to third base on a double by 1B Juaner Aguasvivas (2-4). 2B Devin Travis (1-5) reached base on a fielder's choice where Marrero threw late to home plate. Vasquez scored for a 2-0 lead.

Aguasvivas, who moved from second to third base on Marrero's throw, scored on a wild pitch from LHP Zach Good (0-5) for a 3-0 Connecticut lead.

The Tigers scored two more runs in the seventh inning.

Travis singled and scored on a single by RF Patrick Smith (1-4). C Benett Pickar (1-4) hit an RBI single to score Smith and make it 5-0.

Reaves reached base on a single in the eighth inning and scored when Aguasvivas singled and moved to second base on a fielding error by LF Dreily Guerrero.

TIGER TRACKS: The Tigers received IF Edgar Corcino from Low A West Michigan prior to the game. Corcino, who started the season with the Tigers, hit .219 with two home runs and six RBI's in 19 games for the Whitecaps.

The Tigers and Spinners finish their two-game series on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Charlie Gillies (0-1, 3.32) gets the start for the Tigers against RHP Jacob Dahlstrand (0-2, 3.86) for the Spinners.
