
Brian Stokes To Rehab With Bees

SALT LAKE CITY (May 24, 2010) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that right-handed reliever Brian Stokes will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake tonight in Iowa.
Stokes, 30, was placed on the 15-day Disabled List on May 10 with right shoulder fatigue. He has appeared in 15 games of relief for the Angels in 2010. Stokes joined the Angels via trade from the New York Mets on January 22, 2010 in exchange for outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. In 69 games of relief for the Mets last season, he owned a 2-4 record with a 3.97 ERA with 45 strikeouts. The Montclair, Calif. native was originally signed by the Tampa Bay Rays as a free agent in 1998.
The Salt Lake Bees continue an eight-game road trip tonight against the Iowa Cubs at 5:35 p.m. and return home Friday, May 28 at 7:05 p.m. to take on the Fresno Grizzlies at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
