San Diego Sockers News Release
San Diego Sockers midfielder Brian Farber was named Sockers Player of the Week for the first time this season, tormenting his former team, the California Cougars, with a goal and four assists in Saturday's 9-5 victory at the Del Mar Arena. In just his fourth game with the Sockers this season, Farber recorded his second five-point game and has 13 points (6 goals, 7 assists) on the season.
Farber's first assist of the night came at the end of a first quarter brilliant run along the boards, heading a crossing pass to Aaron Susi for his 13th goal of the year. Later in the first quarter, Farber beat two defenders and then back-heeled a pass which was booted into the Cougars' net for an own goal. In the fourth quarter, Farber helped the Sockers pull away to win with three assists, two coming when California had pulled its goalie for a sixth attacker.

The Sockers will hold a special halftime ceremony at the game, hanging the latest retired Sockers jersey to the rafters of the Del Mar Arena.
